BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

The China arrival card: use the official route.

Find official arrival-card guidance and prepare the travel and accommodation details you may need.

The short answer

Use the National Immigration Administration’s official channels for arrival-card instructions. An arrival card does not replace a visa or establish visa-free eligibility.

Jump to the question you need

Start from the immigration authority

The NIA announced online advance completion from 20 November 2025 through its official website, service platform, app and mini-program channels. Start from the authority’s website rather than a search advertisement.

Check that the service belongs to the NIA before entering personal information. This website does not collect or submit arrival cards.

Have your details together

Keep your passport, arrival transport details and first accommodation address beside you. The hotel’s Chinese name and a contact number can help when different address formats appear.

Use the details on your actual documents and current bookings. Do not guess a flight number or put a city name in place of a full hotel address.

After you complete the form

Follow the official channel’s instructions for retaining any confirmation and what to show on arrival. Keep it accessible offline where possible.

If you cannot complete the process in advance, consult the NIA’s arrival guidance or ask staff at the entry port about the available process.

Where is the official online arrival card?

Use the NIA’s official online arrival-card service linked below. The NIA announcement also identifies its app and official mini-program channels. An arrival card is an entry-information form, not a visa application or a purchase from a travel agency.

Prepare the information first, then enter it directly with the authority. MyChinaRoute has no form for your passport details and does not submit anything on your behalf.

Details to check against your bookings

Follow the actual form’s field labels. Use the table as a preparation checklist rather than an exact reproduction of screens, which can change.

Have these records beside you
RecordWhat to compare
Travel documentThe name, nationality and document information on the passport you will present
Arrival bookingThe actual service into mainland China and arrival date
AccommodationThe first stay’s full name, address and contact details
Onward journeyThe service and destination on your confirmed booking, where required
Travel purposeThe real purpose consistent with the entry arrangement you rely on

What if the online form will not work?

The NIA announcement provides on-arrival alternatives, including QR-code completion, equipment at the port and a paper arrival card. Ask inspection staff for the appropriate process instead of paying an unofficial site to solve a login problem.

If your trip details change after submission, use the official channel’s available correction instructions or ask the port staff. Do not knowingly keep using incorrect transport or accommodation details because you already saved a confirmation.

An online submission does not guarantee admission and does not complete accommodation registration. Keep those tasks distinct in your checklist.

Put this into your trip
